PP material
The protective film was the first to appear on the market. Its chemical name is polypropylene. It has no adsorption capacity and is generally glued with glue. After tearing it off, it will leave glue marks on the screen, which will corrode the screen over time. It has now been basically eliminated.
PVC material
The characteristics of the protective sticker are that it is soft in texture and easy to paste, but this material is relatively thick and has poor light transmittance, making the screen look hazy. After tearing it off, it will also leave glue marks on the screen. This material is also more likely to turn yellow and oil with changes in temperature, and its service life is relatively short. (Basically no longer seen on the market)
Improved version of PVC
The improved version of the protective film made of PVC solves the previous problems of thickness and poor light transmittance. However, it still does not solve the problem of easy yellowing and oil, and PVC is not scratch-resistant. After a period of use, obvious scratches will appear on the protective film, affecting the display effect of the screen and the overall aesthetics of the mobile phone. In addition, PVC itself is a toxic material containing heavy metal components, and Europe has completely stopped using it. This improved version of PVC screen protector is widely sold on the market. This type of screen protector is cheap, generally around 10 yuan. (Well-known screen protector manufacturers have also stopped using it)
PET material
The screen protector is the most common screen protector on the market. Mobile phones and tablets use this three-layer PET screen protector. The chemical name is polyester film. It is characterized by a relatively hard texture and scratch resistance. It will not turn yellow and produce oil like PVC materials after long-term use. However, PET screen protectors generally rely on electrostatic adsorption, which makes them more prone to bubbling and falling off. However, even if they fall off, they can be reused by washing them in clean water. The price of PET screen protectors is much more expensive than PVC. The workmanship and packaging of screen protectors made of PET material are relatively exquisite. There are screen protectors specially made for popular mobile phone models, which can be used directly without cutting.
AR material
The screen protector is the best known screen protector on the market. AR is a synthetic material, generally divided into three layers, silicone as the adsorption layer, PET as the middle layer, and the outer layer as the special treatment layer. The special treatment layer is generally divided into two types, AG treatment layer and HC treatment layer. AG is anti-glare treatment, and frosted protective film adopts this treatment method. HC is hardness treatment, which is the treatment method used for high-transmittance protective film. The characteristics of this screen protective film are that the screen is not reflective and has high light transmittance (more than 95%), which will not affect the display effect of the screen. The surface of the material has been treated with a special process, and its texture is relatively soft, with strong anti-friction and anti-scratch capabilities. There will be no scratches even after long-term use. The chemical material silicone is used for adhesion on the mobile phone screen, so it will not cause damage to the screen itself, and will not leave marks after tearing it off, and it can also be reused after cleaning. The price is more expensive than PET material.
PE material
The main raw material is LLDPE, which is relatively soft and has a certain degree of stretchability. The general thickness is 0.05MM-0.15MM, and its viscosity varies from 5G-500G according to different usage requirements (the viscosity is different in China and abroad, for example, 200 grams of Korean film is equivalent to about 80 grams in China). The PE material protective film project is also divided into electrostatic film, reticulated film, etc. Electrostatic film is a kind of protective film with electrostatic adsorption as the adhesive force. It is a kind of protective film without glue at all. Of course, the viscosity is relatively weak. It is mainly used for surface protection such as electroplating. Reticulated film is a kind of protective film with many grids on the surface. This kind of protective film has good air permeability and beautiful pasting effect. It does not leave bubbles like plain film.
The protective film of OPP material
is closer to PET protective film in appearance. It has greater hardness and certain flame retardancy, but its pasting effect is poor and it is rarely used in the market.
OCA protective film looks no different from other materials, but OCA protective film is produced in Japan and is now most widely used on Apple phones. It is better than other materials in terms of glossiness and hardness, so OCA is the most popular material for mobile phone protective films.
